The Scorponok

The Scorponok are a race of humanoid scorpions, they stand on two legs and have two arms. 
They live in the deserts of Creana and Marac and further to the south; in the jungles and forest,
mostly those of Barsaive, Vasgothia and Indrisa; and in the vast mountain ranges, each of them 
thus has different characteristics.
The Scorponok appear as scorpions mostly, they have an exoskeleton, a tail with a stinger and 
their non-dominant hand is a pincher, the other is a 'normal' hand. Because of this pincher 
they cannot use any 2handed weapons besides spears and polearms and the cannot hold a shield
in the pincher.

They live in small villages or caverns, ranging from 30-100 inhabitants and although they seem
much like animals, they are really quite sophisticated and they have a wide range of their own 
legends. They mature at the age of 50 and can become 300 years old, during their life they don't 
suffer negative effects of age on their body. They have a (to us) strange face, with two 
insect-like eyes and two 'fangs' in front of their mouth (these are actually little claws which
can only be used practicly for holding food or other small, light things.), further they have 
a nose and their ears are internally, yet work quite well.

Their are three subraces among the Scorponok, one for each different environement and each of 
them has different characteristics stated below:

For all:
- May only wear living armor, like Obsidimen
- Can't use shields
- Can't use 2-Handed weapons except spears and polearms.
For the desertdwellers or Sandscorps:

Tail Attack: Damage: Str+3; Attack: Dex
At 7th Circle at the cost of 3 Strain the Scorponok may inject a damaging poison after a 
succesfull Armor Defeating hit or when hitting a spot with no armor;

The poison has the follow statistics:

Spell Defense: 10, 
Damage: d8+d4, Mystic Armor protects
After the 3 consecutive succesfull Toughness tests against the poison's Spell Defense, on 
behalf of the target, the poison stops working. A Damage and resistance test are made each
round.

Sandscorps are an average of 7' tall and weigh 400 pounds + 100 for the tail.
They have no hair and their skin tone ranges from light yellow-brown to dark brown, their 
eyes are usually black, red or yellow. 
Sandscorps are accustomed to very little food and water and are the most ferocious fighters 
of the Scorponoks.

Woodstingers are the more friendly Scorponoks. 
They are excellent Spellcasters and are one with their forests. They will invite any wandering
traveler or adventurer for the night. They are an average of 6' tall and weigh 300 pounds + 
100 for the tail. Their skin tone ranges from nightsky-blue to leaf green to woodbrown.
They have no hair and have black, blue, dark brown or deep green eyes. 
Of all the Scorponoks they have the most contacts with other people, because they sell sculptures
which they make with their only 'good' hand, these are works of art, truly what we can do with
two hands, they do with only one and usually do it better too.



For the mountaindwellers or Stonepinchers

The Stonepinchers are slow moving, though punctual, they are the toughest of the Scorponoks, for
they live in the harsh mountains. If anyone ever shows up at their settlements, they can get a
roof for the night, but usually (if possible) after a small deed.
Stonepinchers are an average of 8'tall and have a skin tone ranging from silver-gray to 
snow-white, with black, gray, blue or silvery eyes.
They weigh about 500 pounds + 200 for the tail. They rarely have contact with the 'outside'
except with merchants and sometimes miners. They have mastered the way to be swift in the 
mountains, so there is nothing which impedes their movement.
